Facial Steaming: an efficient and simple way of cleaning your face

Facial steaming is one of the best way to get deep into the pores and thoroughly

clean your skin. It is very important to loosen any dirt that may be clogged in your pores.  When steaming the face, your clogged pores widen and the dirt can be easily

removed. It also softens your skin and cleans all the impurities, traces of makeup,

dust, sebaceous secretions and the dead skin cells.

The high temperature helps to open up the pores and release toxins and cosmetic
products.  After steaming, it is also easier to remove blackheads and small pimples.
When removing pimples, always use a tissue to avoid spreading bacteria to other
parts of the face.  Squeeze them gently and take your time in order to avoid
scarring.

Boil a pot of water, or use the water boiler.  Add fresh herbs like mint,

chamomile or rosemary for a nice fragrance. Put your face over the boiling water

and place a towel over your head, in order not to let the steam escape.

Stay bent over the steam for at least 10-15 minutes until the steam begins to

disappear. Then rinse your face with lukewarm water to close the pores.

You can also buy special steaming mixtures in specialized shops.

If you have oily skin, it might be a good idea to add thyme, peppermint or lemon.

For sensitive skin however, it is best to use chamomile; while those with normal

skin can probably go with roses, rosemary or lavender.

For those women who like to apply facial masks, it is always best to do this after
steaming the face.  After steaming, the pores are open, so the mask will be able to
penetrate more deeply into the skin and hence work much more efficiently.
Afterwards, you could use a facial tonic, which closes the pores again.

With the process of steaming, however, there are some important do's and don't to be

observed. First and foremost, make sure you do not burn your face in any way.

Using a facial steamer is much safer but still, do not lose your common sense. If it gets to hot, move your head back a few inches.  After steaming your face,

it is best to wash your face with a facial cleanser. It will do a better job of

getting into the pores and removing all filth, dirt and facial oil.

Because steaming your face can make it dry out, be sure to use a good quality

moisturizer afterwards. sign up there to get free acne treatment tips
